Terms of Service
Effective June 9, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of Homesteader (the “Service”), operated by Homesteader (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The service
Homesteader is a web application for designing, maintaining, and planning land and property. We may add, change, or remove features over time. We may also suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, with reasonable notice where practicable.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Notify us promptly at support@homesteader.farm if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Subscriptions & free trial
New accounts include a 7-day free trial. After the trial, continued use of paid features requires a subscription that renews automatically at the interval and price shown at checkout until canceled. We may change subscription pricing on a going-forward basis; we will give you advance notice and the change will take effect on your next renewal. Payments are processed by Stripe, and your use of payment features is also subject to Stripe’s terms.
4. Cancellation & refunds
You may cancel at any time from the billing portal. When you cancel, your subscription remains active through the end of the current paid period, after which it will not renew. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods, unused time, or features not used.
5. Your content
You retain all rights to the property, design, and other data you create or upload (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service. You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights necessary to provide it.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Service unlawfully or to infringe the rights of others; (b) attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems; (c) upload malware or harmful code; or (d) resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights in the Service other than the limited right to use it in accordance with these Terms.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Homesteader is a planning and recordkeeping tool and is not a substitute for professional engineering, agricultural, legal, or financial advice.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which we are established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts located there will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
