This Privacy Policy explains how Homesteader (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our web application (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address, used to sign you in and contact you.
- Property & design data — the site plans, maintenance records, projects, and related content you create in the Service.
- Payment metadata — billing details handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not collect or store full payment card numbers.
- Usage & device data — basic technical information such as log data, IP address, and browser type, used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
How we use information
We use information to provide and maintain the Service, authenticate you, process subscriptions and payments, respond to support requests, send service-related email, monitor and improve performance and security, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use Your Content to build advertising profiles.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Service, and only as needed to perform their functions — for example, Stripe for payment processing and Resend for transactional email. We may also disclose information to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices & rights
You can access and update your account information from within the Service, and you can request access to or deletion of your data by emailing privacy@homesteader.farm. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:
- California (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- EU/UK (GDPR): the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. We process personal data to perform our contract with you, to comply with the law, and for our legitimate interests in operating the Service.
International transfers
We operate the Service from servers that may be located outside your country. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable law.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
